Using Ledgerly
By downloading or using Ledgerly ("the app") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, do not use the app.
Ledgerly is made and run by Jineo Technologies, a limited liability company registered in the United States.
What the app is
Ledgerly is a budget and expense tracker for iOS and Android. You add transactions yourself, or write rules that add them for you. You set budgets over a period. You keep accounts and see what they add up to. It does not connect to a bank, import statements, sort your spending into categories for you, or give financial advice.
Trial, purchase and renewal
- Ledgerly is free for 7 days, with everything unlocked. The trial starts when you finish setting up your first budget, not when you install the app.
- After the trial it is a paid app. You can pay monthly, yearly, or once for good. The App Store and Google Play set the price for each country, and you see it before you buy.
- Monthly and yearly plans renew on their own until you cancel. You cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings, not in the app, and it takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. The one off purchase does not renew, so there is nothing to cancel.
- If you do not buy, or a subscription runs out, you can still read, search, export and back up everything you have already recorded. What stops is adding new transactions.
- Your purchase belongs to your App Store or Google Play account. Tap Restore on any device you sign in to. Refunds are handled by the store you bought from, under that store's policy.
Your data
What you record is yours, and it lives on your device. Nothing is uploaded unless you switch on backup yourself. If you do, a copy goes to the place you chose: your Google Drive, your iCloud, or a file you save. It is then held under that provider's terms. The privacy policy sets out the whole picture, including the two services the app talks to on its own.
What is down to you
- The figures are the ones you typed in. Ledgerly does the sums. It cannot check that a number was right.
- Keeping a backup. Everything is on your device and nowhere we can reach, so a lost or wiped phone with no backup means the records are gone. We cannot get them back for you.
- The security of the phone itself. App lock helps. A passcode on the phone helps more.
Limits
Ledgerly is a tool for writing down and reading your own figures. It is not financial, tax or legal advice, and no part of it should be read as a recommendation about what to do with your money. The app is provided as it is. So far as the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from decisions you take while using it, or from data lost when there was no backup.
Changes, and how to reach us
These terms change when the app changes, and the date at the top moves with them. Questions can go to hello@ledgerly.download.
